Burn, who by Bois' enfeoffment in 54 Henry III [1269-70] was seised of land in Thenford until Giffard disseised him, in response to which he brought a writ of novel disseisin before Preston on the morrow of St James 56 Henry III [1272] in which the justice found that Giffard had disseised Burn wrongly without judgment, requests that a writ be sent to the barons of the Exchequer to have the record and judgment made before Preston because despite the judgment Giffard rendered the land in Thenford to Arnold du Bois who endowed it to Nicholas du Bois' widow.
