Nature of request
Simon and Joan de Estruz, late burgesses of Amiens, request remedy because: 1) at the will of Henry III they brought goods worth £200 into England to buy a piece of land in Ipswich which they built on, but many burgesses of the town then built on the same land and a rascal came to their house and assaulted Simon, causing a great quarrel between Simon and the then bailiffs of Ipswich;2) Simon pledged £18 to a Flemish merchant against Gascon who appointed Clement as his attorney to receive this money from him, for which debt Clement expelled them, their sons, servants and goods from their house and from the town, and when they paid him £24 in full satisfaction of the said £18, Clement, who had kept their house and goods for two years, would not restore them.
