Inge, who in 28 Edward I [1299-1300] was peaceably seised of land in Newdigate and Charlwood until Bordeaux, his son Richard and others disseised him, requests remedy because although he brought an assize of novel disseisin before Batesford and Suthcote and recovered the lands in the 30th year [1301-2], on the eve of the translation of St Thomas in the third year of the King's reign [1329] the same Richard, with the support of Breose and others of the Earl of Warenne's household, ousted and disseised him with force and arms from his lands, goods and chattels to the value of 100 marks, and after 11 days Richard enfeoffed the Earl of Warenne, Breose and his wife of the same lands.
