Nature of request
The bishop of Bangor requests remedy in the following:1) that he does not believe in his letter concerning wills proved before him and his offices;2) concerning mortuaries, vestments and horses of clerics and laymen dying intestate which he used to have in the past;3) that excommunicates should be taken henceforth as they were in the times of the princes, especially the Welsh;4) that some of the King's ministers observe badly the charters granted him by the King;5) that the sheriff of Caernarfon prohibited the King's men coming to his market at Bangor to buy and sell as they were accustomed.He also requests that his men have common pasture in the King's lands as they did in the time of the princes and that his officers not be impeded in making corrections in the King's new towns at Conway, Caernarfon and Beaumaris and elsewhere, as certain of the King's ministers threaten.
