Nature of request
Lynne requests that the king will take him and his goods into his protection and summon the commonalty before his justices to answer to Lynne for the trespass done to him, and that his franchise be restored to him until the case is tried. The mayor and commonalty stripped him of the franchise as burgess of Oxford and lost his merchandise because they accuse him of betraying the council of the town to the university.
