Nature of request
The people of the Isles request that compensation is ordered to be made from the goods of the Norman enemies for the damage that they suffered in the war. The previous warden was commanded to pay compensation from these goods but did not do so.Writ of Edward I to Cobham ordering him to make compensation to the people of the Isles from the goods of the Norman fugitives.
Nature of endorsement
Let Cobham be commanded by writ of Chancery that he certify the Chancery of the reason that he did not execute the writ directed to him, and when he has made the certification let remedy be made.

The petition is dated to c. 1297 as it seems likely that this petition was one of those referred to in a commission of oyer and terminer against the actions of the former warden Henry de Cobham (CPR 1292-1301, p.301).
