Nature of request
The merchants state that they have come to Great Yarmouth with hides and other merchandise, and now wish to take their hides to Brabant, as they cannot sell them in England. But the customs officers are demanding 5 marks for them for each last of hides: wrongly, as they bought them in Jersey, not in England. They request a letter to the customs officer to deliver their goods, saying that they are happy to pay, if this is just.
