Nature of request
Maidenstan requests that since the archbishop of Canterbury has declared him legitimate that the king will instruct his justices in the bishopric of Durham that he not be delayed from his right by the suits of his aunts, and that the justices be commanded to enquire of their malicious and collusive suits. He has been delayed by this malice and collusion, and by the jurisdictional problems caused in the king's suit against the bishop.
