Date
[c. 1307-c. 1335]
Description
Petitioners
Bishop of Bangor.
Addressees
King.
Occupation
Bishop of Bangor
Nature of request
The bishop requests that his burgesses of Bangor are not impeded by the sheriff and other bailiffs of the market towns of the counties of Anglesey and Caernarfon so that they are able to trade freely as they were formerly accustomed to do.
Nature of endorsement
Let the justice of North Wales be written to that he permit the burgesses of the bishop of Bangor to permit them to trade with the king's men of Anglesey and Caernarfon as they were accustomed to do. The justice is to certify the king if there is any reasonable cause that they should not be allowed to trade.

Anglesey, [Wales]
Caernarfonshire, [Wales].
Note
The petition is speculatively dated to c. 1307-c. 1335 on the basis of the hand. In Lewis's brief discussion of this petition, the suggested date seems to be early in the reign of Edward III (Lewis, Snowdonia, p.179).
