[The right-hand side of this petition is badly faded and largely illegible.]Pierre de Mermande makes two complaints against the Friars Minor of Agen, firstly of violence and riotous behaviour in the matter of a disputed inheritance claimed by one of their number in Puy Millon, and secondly in the matter of a bridge built by them where they ought not to build, breaking the king's walls, and to his harm and prejudice, which they have refused to pull down. He asks that the harm done to him by the friars might . . . in future, and that the king's proctors might be ordered to take on the case for the king, in discharge of Pierre.1)

Let the enclosure be sent to the seneschal of Gascony, and he, with the advice of the king's council, will preserve the petitioner unharmed as is reasonable.2) Coram rege.
