[Petition in 15 parts. The roll was evidently longer as the bottom margin clearly cuts through the first line of an additional request:] (1) Marsan states that the nobles of the area are attempting to acquire the jurisdiction that the king enjoys in Francescas and its territory, and they are afraid that danger will come to them from this. He asks the king to grant of his special grace that his jurisdiction over the town cannot be alienated. (2) He states that Bertrand de Galardo has acquired high and base jurisdiction in Galard, claiming that this is by exchange with the king. They ask that this exchange might be revoked, and this jurisdiction returned to the royal bailli of Francescas, as was the case hitherto. (3) He states that Pins, Trenqueleon and other lords of Fieux have usurped the king's jurisdiction in the parishes of St Cirice, Galard, Lasserre and Fieux, not allowing the king's bailli of Francescas to exercise jurisdiction there as he used to. (4) He states that for the last two years lord Deusamonte has obstructed the bailli of Francescas in his exercise of high and base jurisdiction over the parish of Artigues, and requests a remedy. (5) The consuls and university of Salvitate, in the county of Gaure, state that the king, through his baillis of la Sauvetat, has enjoyed all jurisdiction over Brufela since time immemorial, but that in the last five years the late Artunis de Gualardo has obstructed him in this, so that the jurisdiction is likely to be lost if they do not have a suitable remedy. (6) The consuls and university state that Otho de Sedelhaco is attempting to usurp to himself the king's rights of 'pignorandi' [pledging?] the people of la Sauvetat. They request letters to the seneschal to call the king's proctor and other necessary people and to inquire into the truth, and, if he finds it to be so, to restore them to their former state. And they ask that the malefactors might be punished. (7) The consuls of the new town of Montreal request that the king confirm the privileges and liberties granted to them by Havering their founder. (8) The consuls request that the seneschals of Gascony and the Agenais be commanded to maintain them in their privileges and liberties. (9) The consuls request that the seneschal, justices and other officials of the Agenais be commanded to observe the customs and privileges granted to the burgesses and inhabitants of that place by Alphonse, count of Poitou. (10) The consuls of St Puy request that the seneschal of the Agenais be commanded to maintain them and the university in their lands, possessions, rights, liberties, franchises, uses and customs in which they are possessed, and to protect and defend them from injury. (11) They request letters to the seneschal of the Agenais that they be maintained and defended in their right to collect tax from men having possessions in the castle and its appurtenances for the common costs of the castle, and rebels against the same payment be punished. (12) They show that the king is sole lord of St Puy, and has had all jurisdiction there and in its appurtenances from time immemorial. (13) They complain that Trencaleon has unjustly disturbed them in the high and base jurisdiction that pertains to them in the parishes of St Germain de Lussaco, St Martin de Manso at places called Clarac, Martin and Camarade. (14) They make a similar complaint against Berdesano who died in Ferencia outside the king's jurisdiction, he having usurped high and base jurisdiction of a place called la Ilha which pertains to St Puy. (15) They request letters to the seneschal of the Agenais concerning the usurpation of the king's high and base jurisdiction by the preceptor of the hospital of Aque Tincte in lands and possessions sited between streams called La Bergyulia and Templum near the hospital, which belong to St Puy, ordering him to call the king's defender and to restore everything that has been usurped by the domicelli and the hospital to its former state, so that the king's officers can exercise his jurisdiction there as in other possessions of St Puy.

[On face:] 1) Coram consilio. (2) Let the seneschal be ordered to inform himself of the exchange and other matters contained in the petition and certify the king. (3) Let it be ordered to the seneschal that he take advise with others of the king's council there upon the contents of the petition, and to have what he finds to have been usurped against the king's right returned to its former state. And he is to inquire into this. (4) Let it be ordered to the seneschal as above. (5) Let it be ordered to the seneschal as above. (6) Let it be done as it is requested. (7) Let them show their liberties and privileges granted to them by Havering and the king will do what his council considers ought to be done. (8) Let a writ be made just as was previously granted. (9) They should have a writ that their laws, possessions and liberties that are not prejudicial to the king be maintained. (10) They should have letters of the king as immediately above. (11) Let it be ordered to the seneschal of the Agenais that he inform himself with those of the king's council upon the contents of the petition, and if he finds that the collection is not to the king's prejudice or to the damage of the people and that the payment is customary and collected previously, then they should be maintained etc. just as etc. (12) They should clarify this. (13) Let it be ordered to the seneschal of the Agenais that he inform himself on the contents contained in the petition and call Trencaleonis, and do further for the conservation of the king's right what ought to be done. (14) Let it be ordered to the seneschal as immediately above. (15) Let it be done as it is petitioned.[On dorse, none].
