Nature of request
[Petition in 4 parts, somewhat faded:]1) Gerald de Sancto Sereno states that the penalties and fines of the seneschalcy of Perigord which are being put towards the construction of the castle of Molieres, which is half complete, are insufficient for this, and asks that the constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to complete them from other issues and revenues.2) He states that certain mills at Lalinde were destroyed by the French when they held the duchy, and asks that the constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to rebuild them from the issues of the treasury, if he can discover that they were useful to the king, notwithstanding any previous assignments made on these issues.3) The treasurer requests an assignment for his fee and for the costs of his office as he is unable to hold the office without incurring great costs.4) The treasurer requests that the constable be ordered to give him an allowance in his account for what is owing to him for his annual fee and his daily expenses or wages, and that he might be on his oath about these.
