[The petition is badly damaged with most of the upper right-hand half of the petition being illegible, and much of the lower right-hand half being fragmentary and illegible. Petition in 11 parts:]1) Request for confirmation of letters patent.2) Request for equality with those of the neighbouring country concerning the ability of these strangers to escape concerning the deaths of people of the city.3) Request for fixed charges for entry to the castle and concerning prisoners taken to the castle and the extortions committed by the castellan in his charges for entry to the castle4) Request for confirmation of their rights concerning prisoners in their jurisdiction.5) Request referring to the payment of customs by the merchants of Bayonne making reference to the payment of the farm and the repair of the walls and towers [of the ? city]6) Request for grant and confirmation to the city in reference to rights on the river.7) Request for remedy against Pierre Arnaud who is obstructing with a fishery entry to the haven of Bayonne for the shipping of the city.8) Request for the grant of the bailliage of Labourd as the place is near Bayonne and is the haunt of robbers.9) Request that though it is customary for ships leaving Bayonne to pay a certain sum to the prevote of Bayonne, that the ships of the navy of Bayonne be pardoned its payment.10) Request concerning the choosing by the petitioners each year of three law-worthy men and present them to the seneschal of Gascony.11) Request relating to the defence of the city, and referring to the evil of the lord of Albret and to the placing of iron chains across the water to the castle of Tartas.
