- [This petition is badly faded in places.]The petitioners state that the king has recently granted to . . . de Mountbron, esquire of the Duchy £20 of English money annually from the revenues of the town and fortress of Gamarde, and ask that, in compensation for the costs and expenses they have suffered during the siege of Gamarde, they might be granted the remainder of the rents, revenues and profits from Gamarde and its appurtenances, and also that they might have the lordship of Auribat and its bailles and those of Gamarde, and the rents and profits belonging to them, for the repair and preservation of their town, as they are on the frontier.
