[The petition appears to be from an unspecified Peter, an English merchant, to the King of France, and is clearly part of a longer roll or series of documents.]The petitioner states that John Paidrog of Calais acknowledged stealing Peter's goods during time of truce at the feast of All Saints 1300, and was ordered to pay compensation to him, with damages, according to the terms of the truce between the King of France and the late King Edward of England, and the ordinances of Pope Clement, concerning satisfaction for losses and depredations to merchants and others on both sides; but despite this Peter has never been able to have justice. He requests a remedy.
