Nature of request
Vidal de Caupena states that he had complained to the Bishop of Bath and Wells and to Otto de Grandisson about wrongs done to him and his family by Luke de Thanay, and Elias de Alta Villa, but that they denied him justice, sending him to the King. He asks that he might have justice, and that the money stolen from him might be restored to him. He also requests compensation for the injuries and wrongs done to him by the lord of Navailles in his capacity as executor of his late brother, and tenant of the castle of Caupenne, and while he was in the King's service. He also requests letters concerning gifts made to him and his nephew by the King.
