Nature of request
1) The merchants and mariners request that the king of France order his justices and wardens of the ports and marches to cease their disturbance of them and certify the king on this as they have been prevented from returning to England with horses that they have bought, and their ships have been arrested.2) They request that the acts and agreements made between the king and the king of England be kept.Writ of Philip VI commanding that the complaints of the merchants be heard without delay so that the king hears nothing more of it.
Nature of endorsement
Memorandum of Meloun reciting a writ of Philip VI to several seneschals and similar to the writ recited on the face, and recording that Meloun had affixed the seal of the prevote of Paris.They are to go to parliament because these things do not belong to the chamber of accounts; and with regard to the horses and armour concerning which it was done so that they will not be taken out of the realm, a general prohibition was made throughout the whole realm of France.
