Nature of request
[Petition in 5 parts:]1) Brother Peter asks that, as he is going to the Roman curia on the business of his order, the King might recommend him to the Pope, and that he might hear him in his petitions.2) He asks the King to recommend him and his order's business to the Bishop of Toscolano, and to ask him to promote their affairs with the Pope.3) He asks the same with respect to Hugh, Cardinal priest of S. Lorenzo in Lucina.4) He asks that the Prior and brothers of his order in Abbeville might acquire a suitable place in Abbeville or its suburbs to build a church and other necessary buildings, without prejudice to anyone's rights.5) He requests letters to the Mayor and jurats of Bordeaux, to allow the Prior and brothers of his order there to receive the stones given to them by sailors and merchants to finish their church, and not to hinder these sailors and merchants from giving them alms in the shape of these stones.

[On face (none on dorse):]1) In the just and reasonable petitions that he etc.2) The cardinal ought to be written to in an appropriate form.3) The king wishes the lord cardinal to be asked by him.4) . . . come etc. and their proctor is to sue. Because it is found by an inquisition that it is to the damage etc., the king will not do this at present; and what can well etc.5) If anyone has obstructed etc. the King willingly etc., and if any injury etc.
