Nature of request
Guichart requests that the bailiff of the Isle be commanded to deliver him from prison if he is acquitted of the deaths of the Donnevants as he is prepared to put himself to a good inquisition, and if he is found guilty that he be punished according to the law and custom of the country. He was in Normandy when the accusation was made and knew nothing of it, and surrendered himself to the king's prison without compulsion.

The petition seems to be after the eyre held in 1309 as the petitioner appears to complain of accusations made against him during it while he was absent. The petition is dated to c. 1309 in accordance with the dating of SC 8/264/13150 with which it was formerly enclosed.
