Le Clerc requests that he be granted a charter of Peace for the outlawry pronounced upon him in a suit of novel disseisin brought against him and others by Scail as it was done in his absence while he was in the king's war at Berwick, and he requests that he pardoned the fine and fee for sealing as he has nothing.

The petition is dated to c. 1314-c. 1334 as the petition refers to the king's last visit to Berwick, and although the hand appears to be of Edward II or III's reign it is unclear whether the reference is to events leading up to Edward II's loss of Berwick, or Edward III's recapture of it.
