Copy of a writ of Edward I to the sheriff of Meath commanding him to take the lands in Balymacgilkeran into the king's hand and to summon the abbot of Beaubec to be before the justices on the octave of St Hillary to answer for his failure to appear before the justices in eyre.1)

One messuage, 2 carucates of land, 20 acres of meadow, and 60 acres of pasture with appurtenances . . . Balymacgilkeran were taken into the king's hand on Thursday before the feast of St Thomas the Apostle in the 33 year by the view of Blund, Leggesirth, Leynagh and Fitz Roger.2) Lex xv Pasche.3) Summoned for the abbot of Beaubec: . . .
