Nature of request
The prior requests that he is able to approve some of the land of the lawn of Ellerton and bring it into cultivation and hold it by the charter of the king by the farm of 100s where the king wishes to be delivered of it. He holds the lawn for 36s 8d per annum but it has been assessed at the Exchequer for 100s which is too much.
Nature of endorsement
Let the justice of the Forest or his lieutenant be commanded to enquire if this is to the damage of the king. The inquisition is to be returned before the treasurer and barons in the morrow of Trinity, and let it be ordered to them by writ of Chancery to inspect the arrentation and inquisition and inform the chancellor so that he can make a charter in the form aforesaid.
