- Stratford requests that a suitable remedy be ordained as although the church of Canterbury and the archbishops have been granted certain liberties such as the chattels of felons, fines and amercements, the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer have now . . . the bailiffs of the liberties on their claims and accounts at the Exchequer, and have adjudged the profits from the same on the bodies of the bailiffs, the bailiffs not being able to know whether those from whom they receive the chattels, fines and amercements have land outside of the liberty.
