Nature of request
[Petition in 5 parts:]1) The Tolones request that the king will grant hearers of the their bill brought against the prior of the Trinity for various trespasses committed against them, and that they will try the bills. The prior through his bailiffs is preventing them profiting from their land.2) They request remedy as Agnes was taken by Galye and others and imprisoned for seven days until she was delivered by a king's writ to Nicholas and Agnes's great damage. [This petition then seems to be followed by details of those who had the custody of Agnes during her imprisonment].3) Remedy is requested concerning sheep taken from their pasture and driven into the prior's pasture where they still are.4) Remedy is requested concerning a cow that atte Halle, the beadle of the prior took from their close in Chatham and took to the house of Christine de Pyrie in the same vill and still detains it against pledge.5) Nicholas Tolone requests remedy for his damages that he has suffered because he cannot profit from his land because of these various duresses.
