Nature of request
Dounton requests that the king grant and confirm to him and his heirs the manor of Withcote and a piece of land called Sawaie with the reversion of land held by Edmund and Alice Hastings for 40d per annum, the king having granted him the same for his life. This is notwithstanding the grant of the office of armourer of the king's body within the Tower of London.
