Nature of request
The burgesses request confirmation of their charters of liberties with clause licet and that they have chattels of felons, all manner of forfeitures, escheats and deodands within their town and other liberties.
Nature of endorsement
Because the burgesses remained loyal to the king during the last rumour and riot and notwithstanding the approach of the rioters, the king grants them confirmation of their charters with clause licet without paying a fine or the fee for the seal.

Note
It is clear from the contents of the petition and its response that the petition was presented in the aftermath of the Peasants' Revolt, and the petition therefore dates to 1381. The inspeximus and confirmation was dated on 12 December 1381 (CChR 1341-1417, p.276).
