Note
The petition is dated to? c. 1415 on the basis of patent roll references that show that Morteyn was granted a licence to reside in England for his life, and that Tebay with whom he had been granted the two alien priories, was dead by 25 Oct 1415 (CPR 1413-16, pp.73, 92, 368). Morteyn was already the farmer of the priories in 1401 when he and the prior were pardoned the farm, but no reference is made to Tebay at that date (CPR 1399-1401, p.503).
