Nature of request
The abbot and convent request that it is commanded that right is done to them according to right and reason and [that the suit] that they have pending in Chancery and not determined, be not delayed against law as they have united the churches of Blackburn and Whalley and the chapel of the castle of Clitheroe pertains to them but Henry de Lacy and the king have presented to it though it is not theirs.
Nature of endorsement
Let this petition be sent into Chancery and examined there, and let it and the other petition be sent to the chancellor for final discussion of the business, and if it cannot de determined then let them and the process be sent before the king, and let right be done.
