Nature of request
Walter de Harewell requests remedy, stating that, while the chancellor of Oxford University has been granted power to hear cases relating to matters taking place within the town, he was lately arraigned before the Chancellor by Wyneye on a matter which occurred outside Oxfordshire, for which he was imprisoned, forced to enter a bond of £200, and banished from the town of Oxford, to his great distress.
Nature of endorsement
Let an enquiry be held, and let a writ of trespass be issued in this case, and in the meanwhile let a writ be sent to the Chancellor and the University that they should not make such grievances against the said Walter, and they should allow him to enter the town and to use his goods.

Dated in Rot. Parl., II, p.16 to the parliament of 2 Edward III (1328). This petition is now badly damaged, but the transcript is complete, and has been used to provide the missing information.
