Nature of request
Robert le Galicien, the son of Ralph le Galicien, with his coheirs of Jersey, requests the restoration of the marriage-portion formerly held by his late mother, recalling a dispute during the time of Otto de Grandison and that their claims to possession were found to be lawful by consultation of the rolls of Henry III. He requests that inquests be held in the parishes of St Martin de Groville and St Lawrence to establish that his mother died in possession of this property, and that restitution be made.

Petitions of the men of the isle of Guernsey.Guernsey.The attorney of Otto, when questioned on the petition, stated that the king was seised of the said rent at the time when the islands were committed to Otto, and therefore etc. before the king [cancelled].Otto de Grandison or his lieutenant should be instructed to enquire into the matters contained in the petition, and to communicate the findings to the king without delay, etc. and justice be done to the petitioner accordingly.
