- The Abbot and Convent of Hyde request that they be restored to their possession of the advowson of the church of Kingsclere, which was granted to them by the king's ancestors and confirmed by Henry III. On the death of FitzHerbert, Edward I was persuaded to grant the church of Seham, and since then they have lost their possession.

- The references to Henry, great-grandfather of the present king, clearly date the petition to the reign of Edward III. A note on the guard suggests a date prior to 1337, when the advowson was alienated by William, Earl of Salisbury to his newly-founded priory at Bisham.
