Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to? c. 1279 in accordance with the guard note dating which is dated on the basis of the reference to a vacancy in the see of Canterbury. While the hand may possibly appear to be later, no protracted vacancy seems to occur again until the later fourteenth century, which is certainly far too late.
