Nature of request
The dean of Guernsey requests that whereas the King granted him the tithes and rents in the hands of the monks of Blanchelande to sing every day for the King and his ancestors, and he made fine of £30 to be paid to Grandison's attorneys for these rents and tithes and made the chantry, and the prior of Wenlock gave the tithes and rents to the said monks without doing the said chantry, that he may hold according to the King's writs and the letter to the attorneys and may enjoy the tithes and rents until the monks have had grace of deliverance of their matter towards the King.
Nature of endorsement
The monk of the said abbey is present and witnesses that the said chantry is made. If it is, then nothing more is to be done and it shall remain as it is.

Blanchelande, [Normandy, France]
Wenlock (Much Wenlock), [Shropshire].
People mentioned
Monks of Blancheland
Otto de Grandison
[Henry de Bonvillars], prior of Wenlock.
Note
Dated in the Channel Islands Petitions to c. 1297. However, the reference to the Prior of Wenlock suggests that the petition probably relates to the Channel Islands eyre of 1299-1300 (see Crook, Records of the General Eyre, pp.191-2).
