Nature of request
The Cistercian abbots of England, executors of the late Queen Eleanor, request that the King release them from his demand that they give and grant him the Queen's gold of 2000 marks taken since the time of her death.
Nature of endorsement
The council agreed that from the time the first queen died until the time of the new queen's marriage, there should be no levy of Queen's gold, and if any was levied, it should be restored.
