Wodehous requests that whereas he brought a writ of darrein presentment before Herle and his companions against the prior of Pontefract concerning the advowson of the church of St Sampson, York, an inquisition into which is pending, and because of the non-appearance of Wodehous's attorney the prior recovered the presentation, and now the prior has sued to have a confirmation of a voided charter that never held force, that no confirmation be granted until the inquisition is completed.

Dated on the guard to 1334-9. The petition is included with others of the parliament of 1334 (Rot. Parl. Vol. II, p. 79) but SC 8/11/543A and CIM 1307-49, p. 407 (no.1653), an inquisition into the advowson of St Sampson in accordance with this petition, date to 1339.
