Nature of request
Philip and John ap Griffith request remedy because Lamare, ap Madoc, Coyg and ap Madoc wrongly took the said Philip on the Wednesday in the feast of St Matthew in the thirty-third year of the King's reign [1305] and brought him by force to Braose's castle of Swansea and imprisoned him in irons where he remains without release, and for which he has sued a writ in Chancery to his great damage of 20 marks.
Nature of endorsement
If this is the first complaint, let there follow a writ in Chancery to Braose ordering him to deliver their bodies during Parliament.
