Nature of request
The community of Cumberland requests that whereas the King by his charter granted that the forest of Inglewood be held according to its perambulation, and issued writs, one to Clifford and one to the sheriff of Cumberland, to uphold the charter and put the men of the country in seisin according to the charter, and because Clifford was not in the land, the men were put in seisin by the sheriff, and Clifford, upon his arrival, because they had not entered through him, had several men from the said community attached and does them other grievances, that Clifford cease from committing such grievances.1)

Before the King.2) The King wishes that the charter of the perambulation of the forest be upheld, and that those indicted in this way be in the King's grace when it pleases him to speak his will.
