Chivreston and Raly request that whereas the King assigned the bishop of Exeter, the earl of Devon, Courtenay and Carew to be keepers of the peace and keepers of the sea in Devon, and they have a commission to hear and determine all trespasses and felonies of all people, that certain men be assigned to keep the sea in Somerset as they were in the time of the King's grandfather and also to appoint deputies.
