Nature of request
The abbot and convent of Pipewell request remedy because although Henry by his charter, confirmed by many other kings, gave them the herbage of Benefeld in the Forest of Rockingham and power to mow, gather and carry away the same and to graze the land with 250 animals, provided that no one graze any animal from the Annunciation until the hay is harvested, recently they have been disturbed by the ministers of the forest who prevent them from mowing, gathering and carrying away the grass growing on the land except only at the ministers' will, nor can they graze the land with their animals because the ministers allow the people of the country to pasture numerous other animals.
