Nature of request
The nuns of Godstow request that they may have remedy because they were enfeoffed by Henry III of a place called 'Burgwele' near Woodstock, from which London disseised them. They attested an assize of novel disseisin before Enfield and his companions, but London would not answer for this without the King's authority as he had entered into the manor of Bladon, to which this wood belonged, on behalf of the King, so that the assize was delayed.
