Nature of request
1) Estefeld requests remedy against Grandison and Orons who came to the parish of Saint Peter Port to a place there called 'la ville au Roi' on the octave of Michaelmas, 17 Edward II [1397] and cut and carried away the petitioner's corn to the value of £40, contrary to the King's protection.2) Estefeld and his partners, who enclosed in the parish of St Andrew's 2 acres of land of which they were seised by the King's charter and judgment of the court, request remedy against Orons who came and ejected them with force and arms and took away their goods to the value of £60, contrary to the King's protection.3) Estefeld, le Marchaunt and le Moigne, partners of the champart called the fee of St Elene, request remedy against Orons and St Martin who disseised them from the champart to their damage of £60, contrary to the King's protection.4) They also request remedy for a rent of 36s. of the money of Tournai of which Orons disseised them, contrary to the King's protection.5) They also request remedy against Orons who keeps 2 quarters of their wheat yearly, contrary to their charter. Orons does all of these things to Estefeld out of hatred, wherefore Estefeld requests that he be in the King's safe-keeping until justice has been done and that the King by his letters order Roches to call the parties before him to answer for everything done to Estefeld contrary to the said protection.1)
