Nature of request
The citizens of York request that they be discharged forever of £8 4s 10d of the £102 12s 11d with which they are charged in the great roll of the Exchequer for the King's wines sold at York to the citizens by Dacre who received this money from them, as is acknowledged by a recognizance made by Kirkby before the barons of the Exchequer in Michaelmas term 44 Henry III [1260].
Nature of endorsement
The treasurer and barons of the Exchequer should be ordered by writ of Chancery to search the rolls to see if a recognizance was made as said and, if so, the citizens are to be exonerated from the money and Dacre is to be burdened with it.
