Nature of request
The mayor and citizens of Exeter request remedy because although they have been seised of the channel of water and all attachments and distresses of that franchise have been made by Exeter's bailiffs from time of memory from the bridge of Cowley to Exmouth, and the customs and other charges also belong to them, recently Courtenay seized the attachments and distresses of the water.1)
Nature of endorsement
Devon.2) The treasurer and barons of the Exchequer should be ordered by writ of Chancery to call the parties before them and, after hearing their reasons, to do justice on the contents of the petition.
