Nature of request
Welleslegh, who holds the serjeanty of East Parrott of the King in fee, requests remedy because since the King granted the Queen the manors of Somerton and Queens Camel with the foreign hundred of Somerton in East Parrott, the Queen's stewards and other ministers have prevented him from carrying out summonses, attachments, executions of the King's writs, distresses and all other commands of the King or his ministers in those parts of the bailiwick of East Parrott, which he and his ancestors have been accustomed to do in the time of Queen Eleanor as well as since Henry I gave the serjeanty to his ancestors.1)
Nature of endorsement
Somerset.2) A writ of Chancery should be sent to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to enquire into his seisin, and if he has any to cause the Queen's bailiff to come before them, and to do justice to the petitioner.
