Nature of request
Dawnce requests that whereas on 1 December in the seventeenth year of the King's reign [1477] Dormer urged Tanner to gather with sixteen other armed men and, at Dormer's request, they riotously entered the petitioner's house in New Thame, telling his servants they were the King's cart takers, and beat and wounded the petitioner and would have imprisoned him so that he dares not remain in his house for fear of death, that the King grant writs directed to Dormer ordering him to appear before the King and council on a certain day to answer in this matter.
