Nature of request
The bailiffs and commonalty of Scarborough request remedy regarding an allowance against the account of their town due to them in return for victuals taken from them by the king's grandfather for his expedition against Scotland. The king's grandfather ordered these allowances to be made, but the sums have not been allowed by the Exchequer.
Nature of endorsement
Send a writ containing the tenor of this petition to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer, that they view the writ mention in this petition and make allowance accordingly, and if there be reasonable cause by which they should not do this they should certify this to the king.
