Nature of request
The petitioners state that, along with Robert de Holand, they were bound by their deed to the parson of Walton in 80 marks each for their tithes. However, in August in the fifteenth year [1321], Leyborne came and took the same tithes into the King's hand as Holand's chattels, and afterward sold them for 180 marks. They request that the King order that the parson be paid in discharge of the said 80 marks, as the parson was impleaded in the Common Bench for the same money.1)
