Nature of request
William, Bishop of St Asaph requests:1) that he may unite the vicarage of Whitford, which is taxed at 11 marks, to the rectory of Whitford, which is taxed at 15 marks, because the vicarage is so feeble that it can't sustain a chaplain and there is no habitation; both are in the bishop's collation;2) that he may unite in the church of Llaneurgain the portion called David ap Ken's, and that called the portion of Master Benet in the same church, which portions are curacies, and to make a rectory thereof, for the portions are small and have but one habitation;3) that he may unite the vicarage of Cilcain, which is taxed at 6 marks 20d. and is not worth as much and has no habitation, to the rectory of Cilcain, which is taxed at 10 and a half marks.

Dated by Rees to c. 1379, with reference to CPR 1377-81, pp. 366-7, three 1379 licenses for the petitioner to unite the vicarage and rectory of Whitford, the portions of Llaneurgeyn, and the vicarage and rectory of Cilcain.
