- Peter Dardy states that, two years ago next St John's day, he went to Flanders to trade, and, as he was returning to Bordeaux with his merchandise his ship was arrested at Winchelsea, and that, at the request of the merchants who were in the ship, he broke arrest, as they had been arrested in England previously in the same year, and held for eighteen weeks, to their great harm and to no advantage to the King. He asks that, as he has served the King before and is prepared to do so again, he might be pardoned this trespass.
