Nature of request
The petition makes three complaints of corruption and alienation of the King's rights against Galhard de la Barrere, while he was the King's proctor and defender in the Agenais on this side of the Garonne, and asks that the Seneschal of Gascony might be ordered to inquire into these accusations, and, if he finds that they are true, to have him punished as he deserves.

Gascon Rolls 1307-17 no.137 is dated 22 November 1308, and Galhard de la Barrere, King's proctor in the Agenais, is one of the petitioners in SC 8/220/10991, which is dated between c. 1308 and c. 1322. On the basis of this, of the mention of his long service, and of the hand, this petition is tentatively dated to c. 1315-c. 1330.
